A sample of the multi-partner European projects and programmes
our team has supported, spanning Copernicus, ESA, EUMETSAT,
ECMWF and NextGenerationEU frameworks.
Funded under
NextGenerationEU
A national research-infrastructure programme integrating
environmental research facilities across Italy, funded under
NextGenerationEU.
Our role: programme and financial management, holding
milestones to schedule across a multi-site national
infrastructure under tight reporting deadlines.
COLOR / MiTHO / 4DMED-SEA / MEDICANES2020–present
Four ESA Earth Observation initiatives: COLOR (CDOM-proxy
retrieval from Aeolus observations), MiTHO (multi-stressor
ocean health hazard indexes), 4DMED-SEA (4D reconstruction of
the Mediterranean Sea) and MEDICANES (satellite-based
understanding of Mediterranean tropical-like cyclones).
Our role: project management across all four initiatives,
plus communication and stakeholder/institutional relations
for 4DMED-SEA and MEDICANES.
Two Copernicus Marine Service Thematic Assembly Centres, led
by CNR — Sea Surface Temperature (SST TAC) and Ocean Colour
(OC TAC) — delivering essential ocean variables from
satellite observations.
Our role: consortium member handling data production
monitoring, programme management, and reporting/meetings
across both services.
ECOSS2019–2021
Ecological Observing System in the Adriatic Sea (ECOAdS),
integrating oceanographic and ecological research with
Natura 2000 marine conservation strategies, across a
ten-partner Italian-Croatian consortium led by CNR-ISMAR.
Our role: project management across the ten-partner,
cross-border consortium.
Independent quality assessment of Essential Climate Variable
(ECV) products in the Copernicus Climate Data Store, led by
CNR on behalf of ECMWF.
Our role: project management and user engagement across the
four-year service contract.
Two Horizon 2020 initiatives: AtlantOS (oil-spill hazard
mapping and disaster-risk-reduction products for an
operational oil-spill forecasting system) and INTERACT2
(Trans-National Access management across a pan-Arctic
network of terrestrial research stations).
Our role: contributed to advanced oil-spill forecasting
products for AtlantOS, and led project management for
INTERACT2.
OC-SVC / User Consultation2018–2021
Two EUMETSAT invitations to tender: preliminary design of the
Copernicus Ocean Colour Vicarious Calibration (OC-SVC)
infrastructure — including the E-MOBY (European Marine
Optical BuoY) concept, within a consortium led by CNR — and
user consultation for EUMETSAT's Atmospheric Composition
satellite data, building structured two-way communication
with the scientific user community.
Our role: contributed scientific, technical and managerial
input to the OC-SVC preliminary design, and led user
consultation activities for Atmospheric Composition
satellite data.
